The Philadelphia Area’s Lost Golf Courses

In 2011 Jeff Silverman, a renowned golf writer, penned an article on lost golf courses in the Philadelphia area for the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s quarterly magazine. The aerial photo on the first page shows the Tredyffrin Country Club in Paoli which hosted the newly formed Philadelphia PGA’s first Section Championship in 1922. Silverman’s article goes on to mention a number of golf courses in and around Philadelphia that no longer exist. Above you can see a list of golf courses in the Philadelphia Section PGA’s region that have ceased to exist since golf was first played here in 1893.
